We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams.

MuseScore is currently the most widely used open source music notation software. Although it is intended mostly for music notation and generating scores for orchestras or bands, it does use synthesizers to generate sound for playback. This is to my knowledge the first collection of music to be created via MuseScore.

The synthesized instrument sounds (“soundfonts”) are generated independently of MuseScore and available from a number of sources on the Internet. Unfortunately, it is common that in any individual source several instrument sounds may sound realistic, while others are flat, tinny or otherwise inaccurate at some point across the tonal range of the instrument. A sincere effort has been on this website to use the most realistic sources possible under the circumstances. Improvements will be included in future updates.

So remember, the sounds you hear on this website are generated by computer, so give the computer a break if is occasionally not perfect.
